Pre-Game Talk: Edmonton vs Vegas

I was hoping Vegas would win, much rather beat them than Minny.

Cassidy figured us out last time, Woodcroft didn’t adjust. Knoblauch figures teams out and the Oilers highest level under Knoblauch is higher than under Woody.

There’s a chance, it’d be a dream to beat Vegas. I’ve been pissed off for 2 years about our loss to them.

Revenge. Give us sweet revenge.

Very happy the Oilers ended the series tonight and get some much needed rest before the big Vegas series. Flying down to LA and playing a Game 7 would not have been ideal. They are going to need to bring their best to beat the Knights and Refs. Let's hope Gregor is wrong once again and our Swedish Viking can make an appearance sometime in this series.

The schedule isn't out yet but Dallas/Colorado game 7 is on Saturday and there is a boxing event in T-Mobile Arena on Sunday so I'd say Monday is the earliest.

Bet365 has game 1 on Sunday. They’re usually right so I’ll go with that.

I will say they have the eastern conference games starting on Tuesday so idk how valid it is.

I'd expect no earlier than Tuesday, but I guess Monday is a possibility.

The first round endings are nightmare for the league, with big plans for multiple televised game 7's on the weekend down the drain. Wouldn't be surprised if they start some of the next EC series on the weekend,

I'm still pissed about 2023. You may have forgotten this, but two years ago the Vegas - Edmonton series was tied 2 games apiece, and the Oil were up by a goal. That is, somewhat over halfway through game 5, Edmonton was winning (marginally) the series.

Then, the ref at the opposite end of the ice from the action suddenly raised his hand and made a phantom call against Philip Broberg. The replay showed clearly that the ref, 150 feet away, had erred and had invented an infraction that never occurred.

Vegas scored on the subsequent power-play, and then scored again right after that when the Oil were rattled. Game over. And one game later, the Oil were out.

I don't want to take this bitterness to my grave.

These a holes are a different animal, start the series like we did against LA and its likely a different result. Need to be on our game from first puck drop

Fun fact: L.A, the team that lost four straight to end the series and got crushed in every possession metric, had more powerplays than Edmonton in four of the six games. The other two games the teams were tied. Edmonton never had more than 2 powerplays in a game.

Don't forget how the league decided that Nurse fighting a willing combatant was somehow worthy of the same suspension (an 'automatic' suspension which they had chosen twice that same regular season not to enact) as Pietrangelo trying to break the playoff's leading scorer's arm.

Unsurprisingly Vegas is tied with LA for fewest penalties taken in round 1. At least they were given fewer PPs and their PP probably also isn't as good in general.

It’s sickening. Thru ran over Pickard and looked the other way
