OT: Edmonton has the 6 OA pick in the Carolina Bandwagon Draft

Not sure if anyone has looked but we are drafting 6th overall to pick up a Carolina poster to hope on the Oilers bandwagon for this year.

They're putting effort into this to have a bit of fun, so I think its only fair we have a bit of discussion about who we may draft.

Any suggestions/ideas who we should pick?

I, too, am a Draft eligible.


I don't claim to know much about hockey, so I'm readily up for OT shenanigans; that's a plus. Sometimes as the instigator, which would be a minus.

I can't Photoshop, MS Paint or Gimp, so that's a minus. I could learn though, so that's a plus. But I won't, so that's another minus.

I got a western team on the side, the Jerts, who are definitely positively going to make it though, so you have to share me with them. That's a minus. But the attitude expressed within this paragraph is probably a plus.

I consider the IIHF Ice-Hockey World Championships, which will be played May 5th to 21st this year, to be the upmost echelon of hockey, and the tournament will divide my attention, which is a minus. That means I will also have a serious conflict of interests if you have any decent Finns in the roster who I would want to be freed up, but it's a plus if you like to watch that kind of thing. If you have crappy Finns I will wholeheartedly wish you will continue. I use words like 'echelon'; that's a plus. I'm not sure if I know what 'echelon' means, so that's a minus.

I'm GMT+2 and have the habit of sleeping at night which somewhat hampers participation in live GDTs. But, I work night shift at least 2 nights out of 10, and the nature of my job allows for watching hockey, and I am not stranger to switching for night shifts or agreeing to do overtime so I can watch hockey, which technically means someone else is paying me to watch Your Team play hockey, and you can't walk past that kind of windfall in the world we're living.

Back in the 90's my mom at some point of time bought me a Kings backpack, a Lightning cap and a Sharks t-shirt, so if you're any of those teams we have common history to initially build on.

I think Negan is doing good job in adverse conditions, and has managed to build closest thing resembling a state after a zombie apocalypse. Rick Grimes is only good in getting everyone who's not Rick Grimes killed.

I have an okay +/- and I have had a good season this far and I think I should be picked 1st overall in this Draft.

Pros: Like most Swedes, I'm loyal, and hard-working. Plus, always exciting with an European to support your team, right?

Cons: I will probably mostly sleeping during the Playoffs, but I will cheer for the team in my dreams.

I have a .70 Post Per Day average, which is decent for an undrafted HFBoards member, but I feel I bring a lot more to the table than just posts. I make everyone on the team board do less better.

I am a sabre and hurricane follower, in which, people don't understand. **** em, I can't help where I'm from and who I root for.

I will bring my unquestionable intangibles to whatever team takes a gamble on me.

I will nice and sarcastic to your team's members.

I'll also comment on how Aho and Slavin are better than anyone on your team, unless TOR or EDM draft me, then all hail McJesus and Matthews.

Also teams pick up Carolina bandwagoners from teams they defeat, so if the Oilers manage to make a deep run we will pick up a bunch of Carolina fans which would be a tad ironic considering the last time we were in the playoffs

I spend most of my time on hf ****posting in our gdts and talking trash on the trade board. I love nothing more than correcting a wrong opinion with facts and a condescending gif. I have no problem telling someone off, even if it earns me an infraction.

And as far as the fLames go, consider me a pyrophobe. I narrowly escaped getting killed by a house fire in late 2015. I ****ing hate fLames.


My only weakness wrt getting drafted by a west coast team would be my work schedule. I have to be in by 7:00 est most days, so if there's a marathon OT game I might have to bail out. Although strategic naps in the late afternoon could make this less of an issue.

And emotionally unstable? We're right there with you guys. We're selling off our fanhood for Petes sake

CI spent $925 on a Lord of the Rings ring that should've only cost him $125... I want him.

Oogie is also an acceptable choice if he ever listens to me and starts watching Dragon Ball Super more regularly.
