They aren't moving anyone I don't think, certainly not Kulak

This would make more sense if they were, though. Spending all your assets and cap on a 3/4C and a 4th LD on a team whose two major strengths are center and LD, and major weaknesses are everywhere else... is one way to run a team.

We then have a slight problem in adding 3.4 unless Kane has agreed to wait for the playoffs to come back

Not very impressed if that’s our 1st out the door for a 3rd pairing LHD.

Welcome to deadline day. I am impressed that Grier got a 1st and a 2nd for Walman(he was a cap dump from the wings in the off season)

I hate our o zone system where pucks go high and the defense drives the play to the net (dumb IMO), but if that’s how we’re going to play he fits like a glove.

Sure, but getting better players makes you better overall, so that's good probably, or is that also not good?

And you're being a dip shit about Frederick, not sure why, he'll clearly play in the top-9

3rd pairing Dmen dont have 20 min or more TOI.

In his last 2 years with Detroit Walman had around 20 mins TOI
In San Jose he had just over 23 min TOI.
He has been getting better each season in the NHL...looks like a late bloomer to me.

At this point in time he appears to be a top 4 dman...at least on the left side.

Frederic has 15 points and -14 this year. Sure they'll try him out and move him around the lineup but will he ultimately play over Henrique when push comes to shove? Not clear.

how’s his skating ?
In the video highlights he looks very mobile in tight. Seems to have better than average speed on the rush.
Pretty calm with the puck on his stick too.
Not afraid to make a play.

I cant help but think that Coffey play a role in this trade. This is his kind of player.

There’s so much randomness to goalies (and their value can be so high) that’s it’s actually an incredibly smart move to acquire a random one or two for nothing if your team sucks. Just in hopes that one of them shows to be at least a semi-reliable NHL tender and you can flip him at the deadline to one of the teams (there are always a few) who have high playoff hopes with a super shaky goaltending situation.

Low/no risk-high reward situation.
