I already got your answer.lol

I'm not comfortable with Nurse as our 2RD either. But I do see your point in that makes our Top 6 more solid and is probably our best play. That tosses Kulak back to 3LD too where he excels.

And I played last night.... your league sounds a lot better than my league.lol

Cool… well let’s just see how it shakes out. I actually liked Nurse on his offside. I thought he defended the rush better and made simpler plays with the puck or relied more on his skating and mobility.

Hockey is fun no matter… my Monday skate sucks (and still fun), but this Thursday skate is super solid, heck some of the guys can even pass on their backhand ;)

LOL.. I'm the opposite. My Tuesday skate sounds like yours today. All fast and played somewhere. My Wednesday is Dad bods and guys that never did shit. Play D on one and F on the other.

We'll see how it shakes out on the Oilers... I don't like it but trade deadline isn't done.

If it fetches them a 1st then why not?
Still not clear who else is involved .. a prospect going to SJ for sure as per reports

If it’s a late first in a weak draft, slim chance the Sharks draft a better player than Walman. And this team can’t be in tank mode forever, at some point they’ve got to turn a corner and not establish a losing culture for the kids. They’ll still be bad enough to get a high pick this year, with Walman, so trading him now, when he’s the only legit top-4 D man on the roster, is odd timing.

Not every defensemen can be effective on their offside, people who are pretending that just because this player or that player did it all can do it are ignorant.

Nurse looked fine there earlier this year. I'd imagine good skating D probably have a much easier time transitioning over.
The difference has to do with passing and picking up pucks on the backhand versus the forehand, so yeah. All about skating….

That’s what I was saying too… helps because skating it out (or at least past the first checker) is easier and cheating center to angle wide on the rush would expose a poor skater to being beat wide, but if you are a strong skater your stick on the outside becomes an advantage.

i.e. Nurse

Timing ain’t weird at all.

And that 1st can be packaged up. Think different.

Edmonton might want to hurry up on this trade.

The rest of the central is trading for team needs while they’re still working on bringing in another guy who can score.

Same conference team, both contenders.. Avs fan advising the Oilers to pull the trigger asap is a bit suspicious.

wouldn't a top 4 RHD be more helpful for edmonton, i don't know if anyone plays their off hand but their top 4 d currently is:
Ekholm - Bouchard
Nurse - Emberson?/Klingberg?

Kulak is more than a fine bottom pairer so adding another Lefty feels like a bit of a waste from the outside looking in

The Oilers do not have a 2025 1st so it would be a 2026/2027 1st.

Walman wasn’t part of the future and the Sharks aren’t anywhere finished accumulating picks and prospects.

It’s going to take time to acquire pieces and other players will be more willing to come to San Jose because they’ve seen other players traded to Cup contenders. (See Granlund, Ceci, Blackwood, Sturm, Vanacek, and now Walman).

This is going to be the churn for the next few years until Celebrini is 21. Wennberg I’m sure will be dealt next deadline and the only reason he wasn’t this year is that the Sharks have only three top 9 centers atm.

Assume they need to hold off to dots their i’s and cross their t’s with Kane. Could be a monumental f*** up to bring in players and Kane gets healthy enough to play.

They don’t care they’ll just tell him to sit tight until the playoffs. Seems like they’re already laying the groundwork for that

With the constant back and fourth, I imagine the conversations with Kane’s camp and the league appointed doctors has been a wild ride. What else could cause them not to pull the trigger on this trade?
