Could have but then we wouldn't know that Pickard and Podkolzin's cap hit of league minimum was an issue.

Podz was my guy since 2018 and fought many a battle defending him to nuck fans.
That being said and while I blame his development in Russia and then under Bruce as a big factor but I think he's gonna be just another fourth liner who bounces around.

Maybe not this trade but a goalie is a must. Come playoffs they are worse in basically any playoff series and in the case of Vancouver, a team they may very well face, Skinner is #3 or Four.
The defence as long as Ekholm holds up has been a nice surprise for you guys and with limited cap and assets that's big.

Vejmelka is the guy I’d pay for. Ned is barely an upgrade on Pickard, nevermind Skinner.

And we don’t need to keep it at that cap hit if we aren’t picking up a fourth liner making almost two million at the same time.

Not sure you're familiar with Ned's game if you think that is true.

I'd argue him and Vej are similar class. I like both. I don't see any reason Utah moves Vej though. They have no need for picks and Edmonton has no prospects.

They are trying to compete now and Ingram / Vej can probably be locked in for 6-7 mil next year and then maybe 8-9 mil the following.

Fine removing Lizotte. Just figured he's exactly what the Oilers need in their bottom six.
