No, if another team behind the Oilers put in a claim then Edmonton can't send him down. I don't think Edmonton's spot on the priority list changed at all.

I don't think they cared. They needed one forward, put in a claim on multiple hoping to get one, and got rid of the one they didn't want as much when they got two. I don't think they were trying to sneak him through.
