Kulak is a good pickup. Skates well and has improved his defensive coverage dramatically. Has been a good soldier for Montreal - I couldn't stand him a few years ago and he evolved into a very reliable 18 mins a night.

God knows we don't need more picks, but have to believe that is what's coming back. MTL is going to have a ton of options going into next year with all of these picks and fairly well stocked prospect pool. Future is bright IMO.

I'm not an Oilers fan, but no. The Canadiens are not going to get that caliber of prospect for Jake Allen - one of the most average goaltenders in hockey - and Brett Kulak.

Someone is going to send something like a 7th or 6th (maybe conditional) for him since he is basically a 14th forward with 0 cap hit after cleaning waivers.

Conditional 6th/7th for an emergency depth. If he plays in the playoffs a 6th otherwise a 7th sort of deal.
