The bottom six is getting better, and those guys are super easy to find.
Getting two more guys to play 3-4 defense is a requirement. I really like what Kulak is doing. Holland should resign him.
Absolutely get a #1 goaltender. 100%.

Oilers got to 100 points with this defense so they're doing something right as a group doncha think? Legit #1 goalie, yes! Dylan Holloway in the bottom 6 next year might help solve things next year but a signed Evander Kane and Brett Kulak would be a huge move and maybe Broberg finally gets his chance? They both could solve the top 4 D internally so they could focus on a goalie?

If Edmonton offers anywhere near market value, I think Kane re-signs. Issue isn't the dollars, just the term, imo.

It’s the exact opposite imo. I’m not concerned about giving him a couple more years, but we’re in a position where Kassian and Foegele will likely already be cap casualties. If we have to pay Kane anything like he was getting in San Jose, we likely lose Yamo or Pulju too.

There’s nothing wrong with our bottom 6 or defense, and our only issue with goaltending has been Smith’s injuries.

Is in no way a weakness. How many teams have a 60-70 point, 2 way center in their bottom 6? And every other guy in that group is good for 20+ points.

And our defense is built similar to Vancouver’s when they were running over the league a decade ago. We’ve only got one top pairing dman, but then we’ve got 4 more second pairing guys. You think we need 7 top 4 dmen?

Smith was one of only 7 goalies with multiple Vezina votes last season, and he’s on an absolute tear again this year now that he’s finally healthy.
