You would think they would want to allocate some of that money to upgrade the back end. They still went down 3-0 and then lost.

Why? Did you watch any games the Oilers played last year? The defense wasn’t an issue. If there was anything the Oilers could have done differently to up the odds, it was having more goal scorers to hopefully get one past Bob who played out of his mind and stole Florida multiple games.

Is he actually injured?

Very. He was reportedly getting 6-8 injections per day to try and play through the injury during the playoffs

Broberg broke out and can play the right side, and we already have an elite top pairing and a very strong bottom pairing. The defense is fine, as was proven in the playoffs
He was fine, but idk if I'd call what he did in the playoffs "breaking out."

Yup goal scorers is what this team needed, and goal scorers are what they got. Two in fact who are both better goal scorers than about 80% of the last year's forward group (and probably 90% when you factor in McDavid and Draisaitl's injuries).

Great contract

Oilers are stacked upfront, they could run a disgusting 3rd line if Kane is coming back

They will need to adress their defensive corp now

Also, they need consistant goaltending

Not surprised he signed and took a huge hometown discount after watching his press and him saying that winning is more important than money for him right now.

I’m sure Connor and Leon won’t like it because they are wired differently, but the Oilers have the type of depth that they can bring down both of their TOI by 2 mins per game during the regular season.
