You could say the same thing about many of the current starting goalies in the NHL without cap friendly or expiring contracts. Cap space is tight and every club is looking to dump salary.

Its almost worth the gamble to put Koskinen on waivers to allow us to move him freely between the taxi squad and team. Even if he gets claimed it frees up 4.5 million for us to find a goalie for next season.

He's an awesome #3, a solid #2, and a not so hot starter. Will be an adjustment for him going from one of the better defenses in the league to EDM.

Can't wait for him to get here and boot Koskinen off the team.

Stalock has been injured alot and seems to be made, at least partially, of glass. When healthy, which he is atm, he is totally legit and a warrior. Hope he stays that way. Oilers are going to be pleasantly surprised. Oh and did I mention his sticker price is <1M?

In what way is putting Koskinen on waivers a gamble? If someone is dumb enough to claim him, we’re doing celebratory backflips.
