Bro how can you say this after watching Matthews and Marner for the last 10 years lmao
It is not pressure. They just cant take one more step for playoffs like McDavid, Draisaitl, Mackinnon and Rantanen does. There is like regular season "playing" and then there is just one step ahead that.

I think Leafs take game 6 but the series just still feels familiar with them having up and downs in a series with them taking it to game 7 and either laying an egg or respect in handshake line but not good enough yet(that excuse has run dry as well)

Complete nonsense. I've seen both elevate their games and take over series. They just can't do it more than once every several years and never at the same time.

Nope it is not luck based. Crosby just killed it two times at Olympic finals and McDavid at 4nations. It is not luck based.

I mean respectfully they don't get much pressure usually. The entire hockey world is watching them right now and expecting them to do the thing. I just wonder how they come out with that on them.
really. because 11.5 months ago they had the whole NHL world laughing at them for coughing up a 3-0 lead in the cup final and how it would be the biggest choke in NHL history. They went out and took care of business in game 7. Whether the Panthers win tonight will have very little to do with the expectations re: knocking off the Leafs in the 2nd round.

Can you cut the crap? They've already won the cup. They don't give a f*** what the "hockey world expects." They're not so fragile as say, seeing one of their tandem goalies go down throws their whole system out of whack, right?

I completely agree. I don't think Florida is fragile at all. Kind of the opposite - I think they will take things too easy in tonight's game, which is why the Leafs will win.

But probably a pretty ugly contract, no? I don't think his play justifies the number he is going to get.
No, not the play itself. All the other intangibles he brings, especially in the playoffs. Dude is a wrecking ball.

You mean when they went on to win that game, the next game, and then be up 3-1? Has nothing to do with the goaltending, they just suck.

Winning a cup does not make you immune to pressure the rest of your life
