Series Talk: ECSFs Discussion - All The Smoke Edition - Panthers Tied 2-2

My wishlist for Game 4 to feel better about turning this series around:

- fewer dumb penalties (there will always be one)
- score the first goal of the game
- get a multi-goal lead
- keep hitting like we did in Game 3, wear em down
- improvement in the faceoff dot
- limit the odd-man rushes please

I want a solid 3-1 win, low event game, where we control the 3rd period (you know those games where the other team is exhausted in the 3rd and even though they're trailing they don't get even 5 shots off??) ... That's what I want to see.

The team really hasn’t played a “great” game yet. Game 3 showed signs, if the beginning mess didn’t happen, I think it could have been a decent win. Also just need Bob to have a solid game, clearly we can score on them but need to minimize theirs. I think our hitting is starting to get to them too, guys leaving here and there, shying away from hits, it’s setting in on them. Clean up the sloppy play and we’re in this.

Personal highlight is how Reino and Barky showed in the 2nd period why they both are up for the Selke trophy. Creating high qualitiy chances while one-man down and holding the TOR PP to nothing.

If OEL does not get suspended they should just close down the DOPS. Ek got one for Hagel, this was much worse. Btw Matthews with one of the worst most dangerous acts by buttending Mikkola in the face in the first period. Guess they missed this one as well...

This series is absolutely fantastic. I already loved the TB series, but with those nutballs of TOR fans this is even better. If the team continues to execute like last night, keeps this intensity up and Bob plays the same way the series will be ours.

You can feel the momentum shifting in the series now, I'm sure the league wants a game 7 out of this series but I prefer we end it in 6.

Verhaeghe has 4 goals in his last 6 games, wondering when Reinhart will get going but he can save some for game 5 and 6.

Bobrovsky looks night and day better and there was definitely a focus on having coverage at our blue line soon as Leafs gained possession trying for their stretch passes/cherry picking plays.
