All I can say is the fans of 27 NHL teams would want to have a season like the Leafs had.

The Leafs fans should not be too disappointed, the team is definitely showing progress

Insane take. This is a core that cannot win it all, and is already getting old.

Their defense is almost entirely over 30, with several over 34. Their forwards have no depth, and their stars aren’t good enough. They have Will who is a potentially decent starter but hasn’t shown it. They have no first round picks for the next three drafts, and no prospects.

If the idea was to spend everything to not make a final, no, that is not something I’d trade half the situations in the league for.
