I legit think Marner and Tavares walking is the best road for the leafs.

The core is simply not working.

Tavares signature will always be on the biggest mistake of the Matthews Era.

Problem is they re-signed big contracts for AM, Nylander, Rielly. So 3 of the 5 high priced players are back for years.

I'd say that's more Florida having a few off games than the Leafs actually being competitive. In their last two home games, they've been outscored 10-2.

There's no excuse for such a pathetic performance. At least Vegas and Winnipeg put up a fight on their way out. Toronto is just getting dismantled in their own building while fans waste $1,000. Hard to take any pride in the team when this is the performance they put on. What's their record in game 7s? 1-13?

Leafs played a solid 10 minutes in the last half of the first. Nothing else. No push back. no urgency, no emotion. And it all starts with Matthews and Marner. Absolutely nothing from them. It's actually insane how little they show any sort of grit come playoff time. Look at McDavid and Draisaitl. They leave it all out on the ice come playoff time and if there's one thing you never question from them it's their work ethic. They care so much.

Sportsnet showed an exodus of Leafs fans walking out after the fifth goal. All of them were wearing Matthews jerseys. Those would be the fans I’d expect to give up first, lol.
