One might suggest it is because Canadian teams are built to oooh and aaah fans during the regular season but not so much for playoff hockey.

i agree....they cant make those risky moves in fear that they will get ran out of town....its a tough spot and when you have to do things "in the eyes of the fans/media" its a bad place to make decisions.

I was so tired, I dozed off at game start. Woke up and it's 3-0 Florida and they dominated rest of second period like they are on the PP. I missed the first period and all the goals.

I've never seen this before but the analyst crew on Sportsnet at intermission was so disgusted, they were all yelling acting weird. And the best idea they had to get some energy and score was to move Laughton to the first line I think. There was something they said about needing to move Laughton and get more minutes.

That's it. They couldnt even come up with anything else. Wow.

Woll maybe could've prevented a goal or two, but the Leafs could've not given the puck away and given the Panthers prime chances to score for most of 2 periods. As for Matthews he hasn't looked very dangerous for most the entire playoffs outside of a few spurts here and there. Forget about him scoring, I just want him to look like a lethal scoring weapon like he did when he was pumping in goals practically every game not so long ago.

The big problem for the Leafs is that Matthews and Marner shine in loose, free skating games, but that’s not the playoffs and especially against a team like Florida. When the checking is tight, those two don’t shine.

Man I really feel for Leafs fans , last time the Leafs won the cup my dad was 9 years old in 1967, he is now 67 turning 68 in November and man oh man it’s gotta be so heart breaking and sad having to live through this cycle year after year after hope is born and you make it past round 1 for only the second time since 2004 and have to be heart broken like this after 2 periods of play and your losing 3-0, can’t be easy as a Leaf fan and I really want Toronto to win this game

Tavares is severely over performing expectations

Matthews, Marner and Nylander are all in the middle of their prime and need to lead this team to a win

I have always maintained that JT's play style will translate well into his late 30s.
