Shesterkin has been great.

My concern is, the Rangers have gone 7 games vs a 3rd string goalie in Pittsburgh and 7 games against the 2nd string goalie in Carolina [granted, Raanta is a starting goalie level talent]. Rangers have entered each series with Shesterkin as the heavy favorite in net... and these series have both gone 7 [and the team still might not win this].

Next series is Vasilevskiy. Which is a huge step up, and at best, even if Shesterkin plays at his top level, the goaltending will be a draw. The Rangers would actually need to play better than Tampa.

True, but NYR physics (not the same as real physics) dictates that the further the goalie is down your depth chart the worse we’ll play against them, so after warming up on a third string and backup, we may just light Vasi’s jock on fire.
