Eventually people will stop sugar coating this kid and see him for what he is, which is a defenseman who is not great offensively and pretty f***ing bad defensively. But he looks good out there and the YouTube scouting highlight reel checks out so I guess you win until he's about 26 and still hasn't moved forward.

What did I say that was wrong? I think he stopped one breakaway all playoffs where it was almost a guaranteed save in the regular season. This game is not on him, but he has been noticeably worse in the playoffs. Not just noticeably worse just the opposite of the regular season.

Do you know who Andrei Svechnikov is? Do you know why there’s breakaways against? Do you have a medicatable compulsion that requires you to bitch about the player who is FAR AND AWAY the least to blame for every loss? He gives up a breakaway goal against one of the most elite players in the world in a game where the team has TEN SHOTS through 55 minutes and you are otherwise quiet, except when complaining about the goalies.

Carolina is better than Ottawa was but this series is very winnable and they’re laying an egg in game 5. Brutal.
