This also illustrates how terrible the Rangers really are.
No. They were a 100 + point team. We just are not set up to handle a crazy relentless forecheck. Hopefully we figure out a counter.
Timo is totally killing us with his inability to score. It’s as simple as that. You have to be opportunistic against Carolina, they don’t give up chances. This is a sweep with this level of finishing.
Get out of here with that shit take. He has generated more chances than almost everyone and contributes other ways . Unlike other guys that generate shit PLUS het out worked on defence.
We need to find a way to use our speed . But so far it’s all trying to break out past what feels like the Canes having 8 players on the ice .

A Canes is right up on eveyr Devil. It's really good. They need some of those quick, small area passes, close support to try to break this. It's impressive to watch if the Devils were not on the short end.

People have to chill with Luke talk. Him starting isn’t going to make bratt nico Timo score

Well being able to make a first pass out of the zone goes a long way to generating offense. The Hurricanes play a high press (to put it in basketball terms), a good first pass can break that. When we have gotten it so far we have generated a few chances.

Yet the Rangers beat a ‘better’ Carolina team last year

I think the Rangers are better, but much easier to counter. That's the difference imo. Canes have an actual team / coach so the devils need to actually do something other than just focus on on 2 guys.

Nobody told me there'd be days like these...

It’s frustrating because NJD are shooting themselves in the foot again. They are better than this.
My sons’ team has a main rival. When we play them the coaches put lots of time and effort into the game plan. In a final four scenario if we play a team after the big rival we’ve gone into those games virtually cold. That’s what this feels like.

Generating changes means absolutely nothing when every shot is in the goalie’s logo.

So now we're taking away our credit of beating the Rangers? Our fanbase is so weird at times. Makes me sick tbh.
I’m not taking away credit, I always thought the devils were the better team and they proved it.

But this canes teams certainly looks a heck of a lot better than that rangers team. The devils look soft and the stars haven’t stepped up all playoffs.

Ridiculous that anyone is blaming Schmid for this
I thought both goals (at least the first one) weren't good tonight, but conversely I didn't think any of the goals were bad last game.

We're outplayed BADLY. It's tough to win with any goalie. We could win a game playing like this, maybe a couple games, but an entire series? No way.

Our offensive strat never worked this season against heavier teams - coaches never figured out how to adjust and we just did really well against everyone else

That McLeod shot was the first one without a Cane literally one foot away.
