Toronto does not plays Panthers hockey, Toronto plays Toronto hockey.
Any team has a chance, to win a round, players get hurt, lucky bounces, bad pinching, a bad pass, Etc, but on a fully healthy team on both sides, I like our chances.
Toronto has taken a step closer to be a real threat, on a regular season, they excelled like the Bruins, they got all they need to be superior, but in the Playoffs there is less room to play, everything is tight and the physicality becomes the currency. we just watched Tampa experienced this, also did the Panthers a few years back.
There is no way this Toronto plays Panthers hockey, I watched a few full games against Ottawa and they did not look like a Playoff team neither did Ottawa, Toronto was having a hard time getting through Ottawa defense and basically playing perimeter hockey, Mathews also appears to be hurt, this team is the furthest way from playing Panthers hockey.
What Toronto can do very well is if we loose positioning, they can definitely get behind us and get great looks, because they are really good at crowded spaces. I think playing physical the first 2 games will go a long way, I also see OEL get into a few fights.
We definitely have a great scouting in Stolarz, good goalie but Vasilevskiy is by far the better goalie and were able to solve him, we just need to rob his confidence, his size is a big advantage, so tipping pucks to the net might be in fashion on this round.
! player I would like to have a Panther next to him is Tavares, he is having a year, and he reminds me of Reinhart last year, everything he touched was either a goal or a dangerous play, the puck loves Tavares this year, so yeah, watch this guy!!
I will leave Bennett in charge of handling Domi.
