Series Talk: ECSF - All The Smoke Edition - Panthers vs. Leafs

Beating Tampa will always be a treat but Toronto is a different kind of high cause it includes the media and every single Leafs homer in existence. Give em hell.

I kinda hate how confident everyone else is in this series saying the Panthers are going to demolish the Leafs. I don't think it'll be so cut and dry.

Really hope the players are just focused on their game and not paying attention to any of that stupid noise about them being "clear cut favorites". The games need to be played and business needs to be handled. The Leafs may be a meme team but they aren't just going to lay down and die.

I have no concerns about their focus level. Don't think this current core ever eats the cheese(Parcells slang). Doesn't mean they can't lose a series, but I can see a roster with Barkov, Bennett, Reinhart, Bob etc... ever say to another teammate that they got the next game or series in the bag and take it easy on prep. Or allow a new team mate to slack or not be focused.

The fans will fan, the boys however won't overlook anyone. We just beat a better offensive and defensive team than what Toronto had this season. Does that mean it's impossible to lose? Of course not.

My confidence is high, and if there is one team in the East capable of imploding on themselves it's the Leafs.

This team is about winning, and the brotherhood in the locker room. They have proven that they dont care who says what in the media, where they play, who they play, nothing. This series will not be easy, but the Leafs are a team the Panthers have played in the past, meaning their style, and a flawed team.

This talk about a Berube team is funny, because they are trying to mirror our game, so they are going to be playings Panthers style hockey already. The Panthers want to dictate their game plan, and they know exactly what the Leafs will bring. I just dont see them as deep as the Panthers, and their top players are still soft as charmin, and yet to show up when it matters most. They can do it for a game or 2, but they have yet to do it for a multiple series in a single playoff season.

Leafs nation has been rattling their sabres all year, it's time to put the fan fiction to rest. Win or lose, leave it all on the ice.

It would be an absolute joy to put the final nail in the vaunted core 4's coffins.

I would love to sweep them, or take it in 5 in their building. The way they act, after winning 2 series in 20 years, is funny AF.

"This is not the same Leafs....This is a Berube team." Ummm hello, their Berube team is a Temu version of this Maurice Panthers team. They want to be us so bad, that they tried to emulate our team. The problem is, our core players deliver when the going gets tough. Marner and Matthews curl up into a ball and suck their thumbs when they're pressured.

Rest assured the whining and complaining will start very early in the series.

No need to get upset, simply take your receipts, hope for the opportunity to crush their dreams, and dunk on them after the series is over.

I am. I am tippy toeing the line with the Leafs fans in the matchup thread on the playoffs board, but I wont go overboard ;)

They will not toe that line, full of self bravado with nothing but hopes to back any of it up.

If you watched both series, you should be feeling pretty good, it would take something drastic for us to lose the series IMO.

I always take Panthers in 7, and the boys always expect a 7 game war. But, I have suspicions it ends faster than that.
