Maybe, but the longer this goes the more it's in the defending champs favour. Leafs needed to end this early before the Panthers found their game, and they didn't.
Certainly, the shorter the series the more pressure on both teams ... and that's where that Cup pedigree can really show up.

Could have been easily 2-1 Florida after 3.

Fortunately you pick everyone to beat the Cats every game and have become our lucky charm. So please never change. I'm actually surprised Barkov didn't come out and say "This is all thanks to BobHolly39 for going against us every single game. We printed out his messages and put them on the wall before each game to get the lads heads in the game"

Yep the only game that clearly was in anyone’s favour was game 4. That was a pretty convincing win. Even then knies had a breakaway and missed the net. I think Toronto had game 1 pretty much in hand but the flurry made it close so less convincing.

depending on the bounces it really could have been 3-1 leafs to 3-1 Florida
2-2 is a fair result. I think Torontos D has put themselves in harms way too much.

I think Florida takes it but would love to be wrong. The headshots have got to go though. It’s dirty.

If I’m a Sens fan I’d be pretty frustrated that they can’t seem to go a week without a fine or a lost draft pick, and I bet the league doesn’t even acknowledge a particular co-owner telling fans to eat shit on the internet.

Did you miss the all the games or something

1) Bennett headshots Stolarz and concusses him, no penalty no suspension (Florida fans claiming a puck to the helmet like an hour before is what concussed him LOL)

2) Ekblad elbows Woll in the head, no penalty no suspension

3) Kulikov hits Holmberg in the head, no penalty no suspension

4) Kulikov elbows Marner in the head, no penalty no suspension

THEN

5) Domi boards Barkov at the end of the game, penalty called and fined by the league

This started in game 2 by Florida, not even upset with the Leafs or Domi's response tbh. If the league isn't going to protect the players and enforce the rules, at some point you have to do it yourself.

And there's more!

- Rodriguez leaving his feet to hit Tavares up high.

- Marner getting crosschecked from behind into the boards on Friday in almost the exact same way Barkov was last night (in fact I would argue it was even more dangerous since it was a little further away from the boards).

But I'll say again, Domi only getting fined is about the most fair treatment we can expect from Parros. Anyway, not whining. Just score some goals Leafs. I don't think any of this really affected the series so far (except Stolarz being out but Woll played excellent last night so, meh).

Assuming the post was shared to reinforce the question, Mikkola could well have been getting ready to change with Forsling (or the other D) but once the puck was turned over and sent back into the Panthers zone, the pairing stayed on the ice.

The desire to create conspiracies is baffling.

It’s not a conspiracy lol, it’s very plainly clear what happened. And it’s pretty obvious to those who don’t live in these threads hating on the Leafs

The defensemen are nowhere near the bench. I’m expected to believe at the exact moment Nylander gets there, Mikkola has decided to change while not noticing the situation. What’s baffling is the benefit of the doubt Florida continues to get from the usual crowd here. It’s okay to admit that not every dirty play comes from Toronto, really!

I think we need to look into any connection Colly Campbell might have had to Peter Worrell. Could be another facet to the conspiracy as it's acting on the series so far.

I do not understand why a fan goes and make a list of hits to justify an argument that is not there,

There were many uncalled hits on both sides, it is a very physical series, they are both doing it, it is a simple as that.

I rather talk about the gameplay, we can talk about how Florida dominated for 60 minutes and how Toronto got shoutout, we also can talk about how the momentum is on Florida side, these are obvious conversations to have,

Fans here need to watch the other series, there is nothing different happening in the other series that hasn't happened here, it is just playoff hockey, and conspiracies just feel like High School stuff, just too childish for my taste.
To show you the hypocrisy of Panthers fans and the DoPS as well as provide context to the Domi hit

People are pretending like that hit just fell out of the sky, there was nothing leading up to it and Domi is some villain and the Panthers are innocent victims

Meanwhile they got away with 4 legitimate suspendable headshots so far in this series, that weren't even penalized

Fans like yourself keep trying to deflect from the numerous dirty hits your team makes on a nightly basis. You're more than welcome to discuss the game results, you won't find me complaining about the loss. Florida deserved the W last night, no question about it.

But why can't we discuss that the Panthers committed multiple headshots and should be disciplined for them ?

Just the fact that for like the 8th year in a row now the league has set the precedent that it is perfectly ok to head shot our players and not be penalized for it. Of course you wouldn't want to discuss that though, cause that would mean multiple Panthers players face suspensions.

For the record, Kadri got suspended for 2 entire series for the same hit (1 on Debrusk, 1 on Wingels), Bunting got 3 games for headshotting/elbowing Cernak 2 years ago

If Maurice and Barkov refuse to keep their dogs on a leash, and DoPS refuses to protect the players and do their job, the Panthers should be ready for the eventual retaliation.

You can't be seriously try to head hunt every single game and not expect anything in return.

It's too bad Reaves can't play hockey. He'd be a perfect guy to put an end to this constant headhunting bullshit.

It's why guys like Olivier, Deslauriers, Zhekaj, MacDermind and, yes, even Reaves, are so respected by their teammates. They're not going to score a lot of goals, but if a player pulls this type shit, they'll have to answer to someone. There was a time, not that long ago, that Reaves would beat the shit out of a Bennett or a Kulikov, or someone would take a round out of Hagel for the Barkov hit, serve a penalty and everyone would get on with life. But now, players are taking matters into their own ends (see Domi and OEL hits, PEDKing's hit on Hagel) to try to "even the score", and this is what happens.

The problem is a Bennett or a Tkachuk or a Kulikov or a Domi isn't going to fight a Reaves, so there' they're free to headhunt with no fear of retribution.

I love hard hitting hockey more than anyone, and the Panthers crash-and-bang forechecking is actually quite admirable. It's the other cheap stuff that takes away from it all. It's gutless.

Welcome to the p***yfication of hockey. Headhunting and trying to take out other players is fine, as long as you don't have to answer the bell.

Just curious, has there been a single instance of physical contact by FLA on TOR in this series that you guys don’t think was dirty? This is a contact sport btw

That play would have been way more dangerous to Lundell. Mikkola isn't even looking at Nylander.

Most of their hits are quite clean, especially their heavy forecheck. Not sure where you are getting that narrative from. Hyperbole, maybe?

The cheap shots are pretty well documented in these threads. It's not that difficult.

Leaf fans are probably shitting themselves after being up 2-0

To be honest, I'm sure most of us saw this coming all the way down the street so I doubt anyone's shocked at all. This is how it works when you're a Leafs fan. The only sad thing is we had a real chance in Game 3 of going up 3-0 in the series in what was a coin flip game. ./sigh
