To be honest, I'm sure most of us saw this coming all the way down the street so I doubt anyone's shocked at all. This is how it works when you're a Leafs fan. The only sad thing is we had a real chance in Game 3 of going up 3-0 in the series in what was a coin flip game. ./sigh
good better for hockey in canada when they are out.

It’s not a conspiracy lol, it’s very plainly clear what happened. And it’s pretty obvious to those who don’t live in these threads hating on the Leafs

The defensemen are nowhere near the bench. I’m expected to believe at the exact moment Nylander gets there, Mikkola has decided to change while not noticing the situation. What’s baffling is the benefit of the doubt Florida continues to get from the usual crowd here. It’s okay to admit that not every dirty play comes from Toronto, really!

The only reason I believe it was intentional is because he closed the door and sat down right away. If he had at least thrown a leg over the boards like he was coming out for a shift change he could have sold it better.

then why sign him? useless signing
Meh, he gave the fans a lot of fun times. Some great scraps.

He was signed so people wouldn't take liberties with guys like Marner and Nylander, but his game deteriorated to an ECHL level. So much so, that he was a detriment every time he was on the ice.

It was a nice thought at the time. Berube, I am sure, would love to put him in a game, but he can't. He just can't. Not in the playoffs.

some of the leaf fans have drifted away from posting
they will come back if the figs win wed night
...while most of the Leaf trolls went silent for a while after game 2
If I’m a Sens fan I’d be pretty frustrated that they can’t seem to go a week without a fine or a lost draft pick, and I bet the league doesn’t even acknowledge a particular co-owner telling fans to eat shit on the internet.
that guy pretty much told Panthers fans to eat shit on the internet back when gallant was fired and the Vegas expansion caused a lot of blowback. He’s kind of faded out of view since then. Who gives a shit what he says?

I wouldn't worry too much. Not yet. Once you cut through the 50 layers of bullshit, all that's happened is both teams have won at home. That's it. Nothing more.

Now it's a best of 3, and Florida has to win at least one in Toronto. That's what it comes down to. Positive vibes.

What a strange motivation.

Curious what this has to do with this series?

It's too bad Reaves can't play hockey. He'd be a perfect guy to put an end to this constant headhunting bullshit.

It's why guys like Olivier, Deslauriers, Zhekaj, MacDermind and, yes, even Reaves, are so respected by their teammates. They're not going to score a lot of goals, but if a player pulls this type shit, they'll have to answer to someone. There was a time, not that long ago, that Reaves would beat the shit out of a Bennett or a Kulikov, or someone would take a round out of Hagel for the Barkov hit, serve a penalty and everyone would get on with life. But now, players are taking matters into their own ends (see Domi and OEL hits, PEDKing's hit on Hagel) to try to "even the score", and this is what happens.

The problem is a Bennett or a Tkachuk or a Kulikov or a Domi isn't going to fight a Reaves, so there' they're free to headhunt with no fear of retribution.

I love hard hitting hockey more than anyone, and the Panthers crash-and-bang forechecking is actually quite admirable. It's the other cheap stuff that takes away from it all. It's gutless.

Welcome to the p***yfication of hockey. Headhunting and trying to take out other players is fine, as long as you don't have to answer the bell.
While Reaves is the better fighter, still, the Panthers have Gadjovich to step in, or do equal damage. He's actually playing because he's an effective player, unlike Reaves at this stage of his career. in fact, Benoit tried to get into it with Lundell last night and Gadjo skated over, said something, and Benoit wisely backed away. Benoit is a good fighter in his "class," but the line guy in Gadjo's class won't be on the ice.

then with that said
Reaves was a very dumb signing
