For them to find such an obscure stat such as "Matthews is the only 400 goal scorer of 110 players in NHL history to NOT score a 2nd Round playoff goal" is something else.

Do they have a fulltime stat person tasked with exposing even more of the futility of this Leafs core over the last 10 years in the playoffs? lol, wow

I’m guessing that it’s not terribly hard to find that stat if you have the right filters and already know that he has never scored a 2nd round goal.

Sort by >= 400 goals
Sort by goals scored in 2nd round
Look at the bottom of the list, realize he’s alone at 0

Of course, if someone accessed an online DB somewhere. It's just a specifically tailored search to narrow it down to one player in NHL history.

Such a strange series....Buds looked completely atrocious and out of it last game....and now they bounce back....and now it is anyone's series.....hard to figure out who is favored in game 7?

If the Leafs pull off game 7, they earn everyone's respect. Winning 2 games back to back with your backs against the wall against the defending cup champs would turn a new page for this organiazation.

Unfortunately I don't think they do it, Florida wins but it won't be a beatdown like it was in Game 5. It will be close.

Sure but why in the world would anyone do that ?

Since the Leafs always choke in game sevens how about this: Leafs throw the game that they would lose anyway, but Florida trades them a free first round pick of the Leafs choice as a courtesy. Win-win for both teams.

Didn't you guys just choke a Game 7 last year to the exact same team? lol

I guess we'll be just as good as Edmonton against Florida in that case.

Trying to remember all things I did today. Maybe hockey gods are keen on Leafs fans visiting post office, buying lottery tickets or skipping patio and drinking daily cup of coffee inside? Hmmmm….

You sure about that? People are already discrediting both teams and saying the Canes are the Gretzky Oilers to undermine the Leafs

I think I believed in your team more than you did, Leafs fans

Every leafs fan who paid moderate attention knew they were winning tonight.

And we all know deep down they are going lose 2-1 on Sunday.

This has happened 7 of the last 8 years.
They go up 2-0. They alternate. They go up 3-1, they are down 3-1

All roads lead to a game 7 2-1 loss. Only question is if it will be in OT

Since both teams can't lose I kind of hope the leafs can get that monkey off their back. No way I would bet on them to pull it off but it would be nice to see a fresh contender in the ECF.

Obviously the Leafs had to win tonight, but that they staved off elimination and the Panthers didn't finish them... As someone mentioned in the GDT, viewership is going to be insane on Sunday.
Lets see what all those people watching will see. Another game 7 Leafs loss? A game 7 blowout in which case Leafs Nation will be rioting and demanding big changes in the offseason? Or a big win and changing the Leafs playoff storyline a little bit and sending their fans into celebration?
