Absolutely laughable that there is still any debate about Bennett. Take your homer glasses off.

He has proven time and time again with his intent to injure players, It's psychopathic at this point. One has to wonder whether hockey is simply an outlet for him to get away with tendencies that would otherwise be criminally charged with assault in the real world.

If Winnipeg is eliminated, the leafs will have home ice advantage through the cup final.

If the Jets are gone, I think the Leafs will be a good matchup against the Stars/Oilers. Home ice is really going to give them a boost towards the cup.

It amazes me the arguments I hear on this forum like they've never heard the term: accidentally on purpose. A player looking the other way or looking shocked is not a valid reason for a collision to be an accident. Anyone with above average intelligence is going to take out an opposing player/ref while making it look accidental. It's only the stupid players who throw cheapshots while staring or in retaliation.

These guys have played hockey 10 to 25 years, they know where they are on the ice and what they're doing. If they're skating towards the goalie, every single player in the league knows a defender is going to shove them. Players will straighten their skates, bring them closer together and stand up straight so when they suddenly try to stop, they won't have enough time. e.g. Kane in game 4 goes superman over Hill, which was entirely on purpose.

remember Bobrovski was awful for much of his career.
No he wasn't. He was awful for two years. By the President's Trophy season, he re-established himself as a good goalie. And he never had a bad season in Columbus.

This has been the case for a number of players over the years. One would hope the evolution of the sport would occur and the growth would as well.

I remember when the MLS entered North America and there was extreme skepticism that the sport would catch on. In the U.S and Canada it was not very popular but soccer is now the 4th most popular sport in the U.S, surpassing hockey.

Check out this stat illustrating hockeys decline in 2023 data, it's become a regional sport now:

In 2023, an average of 4.59 million Americans watched the Stanley Cup Finals, an NHL championship series. That was of course with Florida and Vegas.

Approc. 5.8 million, on average, watched the Stanley Cup in 2013.

I love how Sam Bennet plays hockey , lighten up it's a competitive contact sport. Unless it's your son/family member he's out there injuring , then my condolences

Game 7 activated…

Ummm, because it’s all fukking mind games.... Nylander has shown a tendency to shy away from physical play at times. Knies hasn’t.
Not too hard to understand now why Tkachuk would say shit to Nylander instead of Knies. Funny, you’d think people in the Mecca of Hockey would have a better grasp of such things.

Nylander definitely looked scared. He did the snow plow stop and magic wand to try to clear like 3 times tonight.

I don't know how you say this after that game 5 showing and tonight lol

For them to find such an obscure stat such as "Matthews is the only 400 goal scorer of 110 players in NHL history to NOT score a 2nd Round playoff goal" is something else.

Do they have a fulltime stat person tasked with exposing even more of the futility of this Leafs core over the last 10 years in the playoffs? lol, wow

Since the Leafs always choke in game sevens how about this: Leafs throw the game that they would lose anyway, but Florida trades them a free first round pick of the Leafs choice as a courtesy. Win-win for both teams.

Now there are no 400 goal scores that havent scored a second round playoff goal. The new statistic will involve players who have 1.
