I forgot he was playing to be honestI gotta say. Matthews has looked like such a passenger. He does not look involved like most of the forwards who are getting "uncomfortable" in this series. He just does some perimeter skating, passes it off. Stick checks. He's not bleeding goals against or anything, but he can't even hit the net when he has a chance. I am looking for him to not look so soft. Hell, Patches is a hitting machine. Never thought I would see that lol.
So glad to watch it on Sportsnet....John Forslund and Eddie Olczyk is the commentary version of Sidney Crosby and Dominik Simon.
I thought game two was pretty good in that series.I feel like

For every time they show nostrils on the bench spittingTake a shot every time the Sportsnet old guy says
"Got take a hit to make the play"
You'll be dead by the end of the night
Last period maybe. Boring as hell before that.I thought game two was pretty good in that series.
Leafs fans seem to believe he has some sort of wrist injury.
He does.Leafs fans seem to believe he has some sort of wrist injury.
Well he didn't go to Germany for a beerLeafs fans seem to believe he has some sort of wrist injury.
As a Bruins fan; can confirm.Carlo handles the puck like a grenade
Me too. He’s been a fantastic addition to the leafs backendSo glad he is a former Bruin.
He's due for some goals but if he's not healthy i guess the due factor might not apply here........He does.
Went to Germany for a 2nd opinion this season.
He cant wrist shot anymore. its all 1 timers or slapshots. Hence his 33 goal season and drop in shooting % by approx half his average.

He is ok IMO; really playing some solid, textbook hockey right now. He's got Marner and Knies to be the play drivers. He's still unreal at takeaways and the little things that go unnoticed. He's due for some goals but if he's not healthy i guess the due factor might not apply here........

Nothing confirmed in the media or anything.I didn't know he went to Germany for a medical opinion. Thought it was more speculation, not 1+1=2. Good to know.
Well that could've been a side quest![]()
Only special coaches tell their teams to shoot 20% and for them to listenThe relentless worshiping of Rick Tocchet on American broadcasts has now transcended multiple networks.
“The legendary Rick Tocchet” - Ed Olczyk
With Matthews, you should just default to assuming he has a shoulder or wrist issue. Always.I've also heard speculation that it's a shoulder issue, but whatever it is, it's clearly affecting his shot (which a lot of various things could affect), which has the side effect of making him more reluctant to shoot, possibly.
