Wes genuinely hates Toronto and doesn't try to hide it. Refs were pretty bad last game, the Rodrigues one especially was horrible.

But Wes isn't just bad, he's biased and doesn't hide it.

Inconsistent and bad reffing is one thing, playoff Wes vs Toronto is a whole other animal.

The Rodrigues call is symptomatic of the larger issue of refereeing incompetence. I think a big issue is they're so fixated on "game management" or "let them play" that instead of instinctually calling penalties when they see them, they're now so trained to look away instead or find ways to even it up (ie. the Rodrigues example).

You saw it throughout that entire Toronto game. After the Rodrigues stupidity, it's like the refs realized "shit, that was stupid even by our standards", so they went on a spree of letting Florida get away with a bunch (poor Holmberg) as a way of being all, "see? we're evening it up" when the reality is they need to cut that shit out and just call what is actually there. Rodrigues should never have been called for embellishment and at least one of those hits/interference on Holmberg should have been called. Instead, due to "game management" we got a shitshow all around where neither fanbase is happy.

Some of us are the ones giving it. I respect his two way game and he’s very solid on D now which is nice but he still hasn’t done a damn thing in the playoffs or even at 4 nation.
