One thing I’ve noticed so far. Florida can’t handle our forecheck or speed. Once we get in their zone and pressure their D they are having a hard time getting the possession of the puck. The Panthers thrive on counter attacks. Once they can’t get posession quick enough it bogs down their whole game plan. Outside of that Powerplay goal that’s another period dominated by the Leafs 5v5

Like I said earlier, don't get into the special teams battle with those guys, try to beat them 5 on 5.

Matthews and Marner need to be better and impact the game more offensively. I would give them one more period to show us something otherwise I’d be splitting them up.

We won that period imo. The power play goal by Florida dampens things but 5v5 Toronto won

Honestly, I'd probably stick Domi and McMann with Matthews and have him just check for a while. Betting both Marner and Nylander look better away from him.

Marner and Matthews terrible, blast that 1st PP unit to the sun. Patches goal was simple, how it should be done.

Nylander seems to have put on his concrete skates tonight, he isn't moving at all.
That 2nd power play was completely derailed by him being unable to move the puck or his feet.

The 3rd power play saw the ultimate issue with Toronto's power play when it goes bad:

Nylander and Marner play catch on the perimeter, both players see off Matthews when he has an open lane and a stick in the air, and then force passes to him when he can't shoot or is under pressure such that the pass goes to his skates.

They are still looking for him even when it’s clear he can’t finish anything.

Maybe put OEL on and put Marner on that side…idk but Matthews is killing the pp really badly
