Bunting did indeed get a suspension for a hit on Cernak in 2023. Don't remember the amount of games he got but I think it was 3.

Obviously I saw it as a deserved suspension, but if I try to take off my homer glasses and consider it from the other point of view, I can definitely understand how it would feel frustrating to see Leafs players get suspended often but players on other teams get away with questionable things without facing supplemental discipline.

He got two games for hitting Hagel in the head during game 4 of the series against the Bolts. His suspension was therefore served by sitting out game 5 of that series, and game 1 of this series.

Not saying it was harmless. Just pointing out it’s potentially defamatory to say someone was on steroids when we have no way of knowing whether that’s true.

Who knows if it was to help his recovery? He could have been taking stimulants. He can say whatever he wants to about his test and the NHL isn’t at liberty to rebut it.

not at all an expert but know enough to say that there are definitely PED’s that aren’t steroids, including ones that potentially aid recovery. Beta blockers being one class of medications.

If I built a machine learning model to identify patterns of each teams rosters today and their past history of head shots, regardless of what team they were on, and tried to predict the future outcome of more head shots from any current lineup, I wonder which team would be most likely to engage in a headshot.

From watching MMA and other sports, there's stuff like SARMs which are non-steroidal compounds but can mimic the effects of steroids. Ostarine is a common one that can help with recovery and healing for example, Sean O'Malley (who is vegan and has had some bone breaks and ligament issues) has been busted for it before.

Of course it's horrendous. But there is a long list of ineptitude across the league and many arenas without a single banner. Rangers once in 84 years. So many teams to share one championship. Fla ended their 30 year drought last year. Good on them
