Honestly, I don't even blame Hamrlik. I blame Torts. You acquire an old declining guy, don't play him, and then ice him with the worst possible player combos. Is that a recipe for success , hell no!
Tactically torts is as good as a 2 yr old. He's a good motivator, but that matchup proves that tactically he is incompetent

If the shots aren't being deflected past him by our own dmen you mean?

Seems most goalies nowadays are taught to "be big in the net" and "block the net". The concept of actually stopping/catching pucks consistently isn't as prevalent as it was before the butterfly years.

It almost feels like goalies in general are losing their hockey sense a little bit in favor of just following the angles and keeping square to the net.

It comes down to a lack of speed and grit if you ask me. Letting guys that were cheap and serviceable like Fedotenko and Mitchell go hurt this team's bottom 6.

Lundqvist has to learn how to play more at the top of his crease, he'd let up even less goals. Deflections wouldn't have as much time to change direction.

I don't think Krug played a NHL game before this series. Julien has the balls to throw a rookie into a game.

God forbid Torts trust a rookie in McIlrath over Hamrlik who hasn't played a game in 2 months. Because its never worked before.....

Oh wait! Yes it has! His name is Chris Kreider!

Did it ever dawn on you that we don't have the type of talent in the minors that the Bruins and the other top teams do?

I'll keep using my trusty hammer.

Asham should be playing. Asham should be playing.

can we try to get the puck to the other side please ?

you know, where we have to score them goals...

Horton would look good in blue.
On a one year deal at no more than 4 million.
Horton is getting 3 likely 4 years at 20 million, no thanks.
He's in his 30s, has head problems. No thanks.

I don't talk to CBJ fans - but based on their thread on trade day, I am fairly confident most of them were going to miss Moore the most. I recall most of them saying that Dorse took really stupid penalties and that even though he is an asset in the locker room and has a great physical presence, it doesn't balance out his poor discipline.
It was funny when people said Doresett would be like Prust.
Thing is, when Prust came here he was not Prust, he developed into Prust.
Doresett already had been established as just another 4th liner who takes penalties.

He isn't a PK killer, he doesn't win fights, and doesn't like Prust did, and is too established to think he will develop.

That was a poor, poor, comparison.

Who is Nash?

Where is Callahan?
