I hae this crazy weird feeling.... It's like our entire team structure has been changed overnight

This team is just a mess.... It's amazing they have made it this far to be one of the last 8 teams standing.

I don't anticipate winning, I just want to see the 'battle level' raised and play the kind of hockey to be proud of....unfortunately deep down I believe the coach and players already feel defeated and their play tonight will show as such.

Hey, at least our captain isn't pulling an Alfie like last night...

Daniel Alfredsson says it's "probably not" feasible for the #sens to beat the #pens three straight games.

Wow, I really hope he didn't say that

The defense without Stalman playing is horrific.... tonights game should be interesting in more than one way

Haley - Newbury - Asham would have been cool.

i wonder if Haley Newbury and Dorsett will start the game.. Rangers must bring some grit and physical play to this soft team.. the tougher teams do tend to win more games. even the Red Wings Blackhawks series has show more emotion and grit than both Rangers series....

Do you guys think it was Torts, Sather, or Someone else in Management who made the decision to scratch Richards?

I cannot wrap my head around Torts actually doing this

It could have been anyone, but I think it was Torts, knowing the room needed a shakeup. Difficult for him to do, but he had no choice.

I am thrilled for this game...I have had a hard time getting pumped for the games this round, for whatever reason, maybe too high too much from round 1, but I am really pumped for the game tonight!!!

This will be my last post until after tonight's game, my goal was to hit 6050 posts before tonights game and here it is....

my aunt and uncle turned on some of the games this playoffs and the Rangers had scored or won when they watched, and lost when they did not....Tonight, they are watching!!!! LET'S GO RANGERS!!!!

Yep.

Definitely don't hate Richards and wish him the best. Just not working here and there is no reason whatsoever to drag it out any longer.

Completely agreed, been telling my friend since the 2nd week of the season he looks like he turned 38 in one year. Sadly I think they might give him a 2nd chance next season I dont want them too though.

i dunno if he has been that bad... for anyone going to the game, once that they announce Richards as a scratch i hope to hear some cheers and some buy him out chants.... that should send a message

Some people might give Richards the edge just bc of thr playoffs last year, but reg season Gomez had 2 better ones then 2 of Richards. Plus Gomez atleast got us McDonagh and Gaborik.

Totally agree. Just don't lose this one at home tonight. Go out and give it all you got!!!

"Why is Asham scratched?"

Because he wasn't helping anyone. He has a rip of a shot... that's it. He did nothing about Thornton all series. He's an enforcer and he's enforced nothing. He's a 4th liner and he's too slow to properly forecheck. He's a liability. He doesn't block shots, he's not strong along the boards, he's slow, and he's out of position much of the time. He scored 2 goals for us... Mike Rupp scored 2 goals for us in the Winter Classic. Get over yourselves. He's a good vet, but when you have a team in desperate need of energy, and he's an energy guy, AND he doesn't deliver any of that, AND he has all those shortcomings I mentioned earlier... you have to sit him.

As for Richards. Excellent call. I called this last night. I thought Haley was sent back home otherwise I would have suggested moving him in as well. Kreider needs to be moved up. If Clowe is in you scratch Pyatt. Been saying this all season. Too many similar redundant parts. Clowe is a better version of Pyatt. You need goals, they have same goal scoring capabilities. Kreider has better goal scoring capabilities than both of them. If Kreider is scratched that's a head scratcher. But I think Torts is finally using logic. Look for Kreider to be moved up tonight. Wouldn't be surprised to see him Step and Nash be a line. He has loads of chemistry with Step, and Nash needs a wake up. You need your goal scorers to come alive in desperation games. This is certainly one of them.

You start the ****ing 4th line tonight. You attack Thornton right off the face off. You put him in his place. And you wake up the crowd from the get go. Wake this ****ing team up, you have nothing left to lose. Lets go boys.

Newbury should have been playing a long time ago. He was great when he was called up and looked like he could add some scoring. Torts pride got in the way and we sent him packing to the AHL.

What has Thornton done that has warranted a response?

No. Logic would imply that a Conn Smyth winner who has loads of playoff experience would pay more dividends than an AHL thug.

Might be too little too late, would have sat Rich a few games back the way he's been playing. But if anything Torts gave Richards ample time to prove himself, not only for this series/playoffs but also for next seasons spot on the roster. Looks like Brad failed both.

Nothing out of the ordinary, although when he came on and tried to fight/intimidate a smaller Dorsett that should have been an automatic send Asham out and have him fight scenario.

Bruins have been unbelievably tame this series. But again, who else would you go after to gain energy?
