6pm on a Tuesday...why

they should always try to end the regular season where it gives teams enough time to start round 1 on a satruday. then you have every team go on that night 1 stagger the times like you do for the regular season thing on espn. just a fun way to kick off the playoffs march madness style and then you have series break off after that.

Ugh I have a flight to the west coast on the evening of potential game 6. I don't fly much and usually just read so I have no idea about newfangled infotainment systems. Can you watch live tv on planes nowadays?

Gotham sports app and you can stream from your phone is your best bet. You are gonna have to buy the WiFi service on the flight though.

Television. Specifically trying to fit every game on espn/espn2/tnt/tbs and evenly split between the two. Also accommodating Sportsnet in Canada to make sure Ott-Toronto land on next Saturday night and the Leafs and Habs are on opposite nights. The result is 3 eastern conference games on Tuesday and so they have to try to fit them in at reasonable times. Thus you have the 6pm, 8pm, 11pm triple header on ESPN. It is that or one of the games gets dumped to NHL Network.

Some airlines have DirecTV at every seat and it works as long as you're flying over the continental USA

I'd rather have the 6pm game than an 8pm game, especially if we go multiple ots.

Really like our teams schedule this round. Heavy weekends.

Not sure about the 6pm Tuesday but... Other than that. A- ( minus for being on Easter Sunday)

Which airline are you taking? Southwest/JetBlue have live TV included but we won't know which station will have the national TV rights. Game 6 is on a Friday, so that's probably TNT/TBS? Southwest has ESPN/TBS but not TNT/ESPN2. I was disappointed for the 2021 Draft to learn that Southwest didn't have ESPN2, so I missed the back half of the first round (so to me the Chase Stillman pick never happened). I've never tried to stream Netflix/HBO/etc on a flight. I seem to recall that there's usually a disclaimer saying that they can't handle that sort of bandwidth, but I only fly a handful of times a year.

My dilemma for a potential Game 6 is that I'm flying into Dallas to catch the U18s semifinals that night. I suppose I could pull an audible and skip the late game (potentially USA/Canada). Or I could try to stream the Devils game in the arena. I wish I could convince my friend to go to the Bronze/Gold medal games instead, but I don't think she'd be down for six+ hours of hockey. I'd be flying back right after Game 7, so I might have to plan my dinner/airport drop off around that but we'll see if it gets to that point.

Alaska Airlines to Seattle.

They tout that the $8 WiFi can handle various streaming services. You'd probably need ESPN+, TBS, and TNT apps ready for whichever station has the rights to the game.

On an unrelated note, have fun in Seattle. A couple college friends settled there, so I usually have an excuse to fly up at least once a year.

I had a little voice in my head saying "playoffs tho" when booking the trip last month, but I'm not that big a fan. I had playoffs overrun a vacation once before and ended up watching game 6 of the 2012 finals in a hotel room in Helena, MT.

There are NHL games on big Muslim and Jewish holidays, why does Easter get put on a pedestal?
Because most Christians are focused on church and family. I’m not educated on the other religions. And if that’s the case, they should show respect on the most religious holidays of other religions as well. Most people take these specific days seriously.

If there’s a game on Easter, shame on the NHL. It’s not like it’s Thanksgiving or Christmas Eve. I hope they do have a low viewership if that’s the case. They deserve it.

Games have been happening on Easter for years with a bunch of leagues, it's not something new.

Not one holiday has ever been sacrosanct when it comes to a playoff situation. It'd be one thing if we were talking about regular season games, but even that's pretty much a horse out of the barn situation once the NBA started all its Christmas Day games or the NFL with Thanksgiving Day.

Hasn’t the NFL also played on Christmas?

I'm going to my brothers place for Easter with my whole family and we're all pumped to watch the game so calm the F down. They're all hardcore fans plus some old timers too that don't give a shit.

If you can't act like a normal person while watching the game in front of your family that's on you. Yes it might impact your viewing time because of other obligations, DVR it and watch later.

We're done with the game on Easter discussion bullshit, enjoy the game or not and move the f*** on.
