Yeah. Holl's been terrible and needs a reset. To be honest, Brodie and Gio look like they could use some R & R too.
I don't think a reset is enough, he needs a change of scenery. I don't think he's as bad as a player as he's shown in this series, but he's totally unplayable. I don't it's fair to keep throwing a guy out who is so despised by the fans

There's no way you don't play Liljegren tonight. Leafs need a shake up on defense. Glad there's a good indication that he'll play.

I'll be pessimistic here that I don't think the Leafs can get over the hump. They aren't playing good at all and Vasi won't give up 4 goals a game every game. My only hope is that changing up the D significantly will improve their chances and they have typically always bounced back very well after a loss or bad performance.

Leafs' transition game has been struggling big time IMO. At least with Lily they will be able to move the puck up the ice quickly and won't be playing chicken in their own zone.

After that it is down to the big 3 (matthews, marner, willy) to get it done. I have no faith in tavares.

ROR's wingers are not good enough IMO but if ROR can win his match up that would be great too. Also sammy needs to tone it the F down giving up soft goals.. .867 sv % isn't good enough

No. Only know Holl took the optional skate (he doesn't when he plays) and that Liljegren didn't skate (he always skates when he's not playing).

My only guess is that Giordano and Knies are game time decisions as well. I don't think anybody else is injured.

Rielly Schenn
McCabe Liljegren
Gus Brodie

I'd run with these pairs. You got a puck mover on every pair.

Both Gio and Holl have been trash. but IMO Gio's metrics are due to Holl's absolute crap play.

Why do people say stupid shit like this?

Gio is having a rough go and having a scrub for a partner that he has to cover makes it even worse. Gio would be best served with a strong PMD as his partner so he can hang back defensively.

My fear is Gio just looks toast. He suddenly seems to be really losing his mobility, has no explosiveness on the ice and he's been spraying the puck around a little when passing. Sure, someone could carry him, but aside from finding the fountain of youth somewhere he just looks like a weak link you can target if you're Tampa.

Not sure what's wrong with Brodie. He usually has the savvy to hold the puck an extra second or two to make a play but he looks like he's getting swarmed and is moving the puck like he's got a ringette stick. Positioning has been scrambly too. Just doesn't look sharp.

In Brodie's entire career he has not been the guy to move the puck. He had Gio before as a puck mover, than Rielly as a puck mover. Even with Muzzin-Brodie pairing; Muzzin was the puck mover. With McCabe they have made Brodie the puck mover which is a change after the TDL and a lot to get used to just before the playoffs.

PMD style is not up Brodie's alley IMO. This is entirely on coaches

The popular thing to do is to blame everything on Holl, and by extension Keefe. But our PP has been absolutely brutal last couple of games andHoll makes a couple of mill a year whereas the average pay of the guys messing up the PP is more like 9-10 mill. This needs to be better tonight, a lot better!

Goaltending and special teams are so often the deciding factor in games like this. Winning the goaltending battle seems like a long shot so a realistic path to victory seems to be to hope to break even on the goaltending, or at least not get slaughtered in that dept. and then the special teams need to be on their game. If the PP sucks again it's gonna be hard to win this one.

Get it together guys. GLG!!

I'll say it again, I like going with 7 dmen tonight. Course that would require Keefe to handle things intelligently so I dunno, maybe not.

What Boudreau said. everything to a "T"

"So shits not going well. Its not working (and hasn't worked in the past). So get your heads out of your ass and make it work. Outwork them. Nobody wants people feeling sorry for themselves. Don't think you want it; go out there and show you want it" (parapharsing ofcourse ;))

Will B4 Skill. Skill's are USELESS if you have no WILL to want it more. Period!

These are two memorable misses. For our collective sake, I am happy your fathers party was not rescheduled to another date. I hope you have 13 more family functions this spring.
And happy birthday to your Pop!

I don't think so, just speculation at this point. Keep said specifically during his press time that he would answer no lineup questions.
Gotcha, I’ve seen the speculation in regards to the morning skate but I’m not going to let myself get my hopes up

This is the first game all series that I’m actually able to watch in real time / not on PVR, really excited about that. Can’t say I have a good feeling about the game but I’m gonna be cheering them on, let’s bring this one home boys! Go Leafs Go

.886 sv% and 3.62 GAA so far compared to .870 and 3.90 for Vasilevskiy. Not too bad considering we've probably been slightly outplayed overall. These next two games are when Vasilevskiy shines though so we're likely going to need his best performance.
