I hope vatrano is able to stay here and backfill as a 3rd line rw. He is a great guy for that spot who can play up when needed on a proper roster.

Zibs threw a hit and actually cared about a d zone battle and we clear the zone, skate down, and get a good chance.

Revolutionary.

Does anyone else think Gallant maybe has lost the room?

1. He has a history of weirdly getting fired after short stints despite great results.
2. The listlessness of this team the past couple games reminds me more than anything of how we played the final few games against NJ in 2012, after which is became very clear that Torts had completely lost the room.

We'll see next year and specially what the injuries are here.

Just tuned in...looks like the boys are picking up right where they left off last match. Fantastic, I'm ready...

Usually a coach losing the room takes some time and shows more and more over time. This team was playing their best hockey to end the regular season just recently. That’s not it imo
The team lost all of it's jam with Goodrow, Motte, Blais, Lindgren...

But it's no excuse for how bad Zibanejad, Panarin, Fox and Kreider have been.

Instead of focusing on this dumpster fire series and elimination game, let's reminisce about the good times this year. Like the time Kakko came back from injury, scored a few goals then went right back on the IR!
Or how about Copp injecting some goal scoring post deadline, that was sweet? Or Igor's early season heroics and flopping dives? Good times.

Kinda crazy how badly we've been outplayed and yet Gallant hasn't adjusted at all.

More than anyone else, Zibenejad, Kreider, Trouba, Shesterkin, Panarin, Nemeth whoever you want to blame, I feel like Gallant is the primary contributor to their failures.

He has failed to adapt, continued playing the same run and gun offense, gave up too many high quality chances, didn't give Shesterkin a chance to get settled in in either game in Pittsburgh, Gallant is to blame.
