This is exactly what I was worried about with the Kane trade. We looked like a force leading up to the trade deadline, then we traded for two stars, cut the kids minutes, and expected them to gel into a Colorado or a Tampa in a few weeks.

It was a bad plan. Team toughness wins in the playoffs, and these guys still don't even know how they fit as a team yet.

I didn’t go into this season with high hopes — thought we would be a wildcard. Wasn’t too upset for the first half of the year for that reason. Then Trouba turned things around and I let myself believe.
