Even nerdier reference, Harry did actually die in that scene but in the point in the afterlife where wizards are normally able to choose to move to the afterlife or come back as ghosts, Harry, since he contained two different souls with his and Voldemort's split soul and had gone to his death willingly, was able to retain more agency in the afterlife than others do and send Voldemort's soul to the afterlife while he returned his soul fully to the world of the living rather than partially.
