And so should have Bennett, call them both or neither. They decided neither. No harm, no foul. Next time Bennett won't start a mele.
Galaxy-brained take. Tapping the blocker of a goalie who is potentially juggling a puck (as the whistle blows) is not the same as a retaliatory baseball swing into the ankles of another player well after the whistle.

I despise both of these teams btw and am actually rooting for dual meteors. If that's Tkachuk slashing the ankles of Marchand or Pastrnak after the whistle, it's the same story. Should be a penalty.

you call that luck?! no that's not lucky man that's the crime the show the business

joke league, some people are stupid af (not necessary you)
Honestly I think with how exaggerated the chop from McAvoy was and the dramatic dropping to ice by Bennett … the refs were frozen trying to figure out what they just saw

I know I did. I thought he just got stick or missed completely and Bennet dropped trying to draw a call. Only saw contact on reply

That was some weird shit

You can keep saying "tapping the blocker" all you want to minimize what Bennett did, it's not working. He's starting extra stuff that's not necessary. Refs don't like that. And no, it wasn't being juggled, it was secured.

If someone slaps me in the face, it's warranted that I punch them back. They started the trouble so they get a little extra.
If someone lightly taps you and you chop them on the foot, punch them in the face, and push them on the ground, it's you getting charged for assault. Not them.

Reactions: Prominence Problem
For all the bitching and whining about the officiating in this year's playoffs, you'd think people would have said "f*** this, I'm not watching any more, I'm out." Oddly enough, no one does that.

Oh, I'm sure someone - probably more than someone - will claim they're going to do that. But they won't. They can't. And so if they really want anything to change, they merely enable the problem they complain about and give no incentive for anything to be different.

Easier to bitch and whine than to do something. True for a whole lot of things.

And that's why Boston won the Stanley Cup in 2013 and 2019, and will win the ...

...... wait, I've just been handed a note - Boston did not in fact win the Stanley Cup in either of those years, Jacobs being arguably the lead owner among the Board of Governors since at least when Bill Wirtz died.

Anyway, carry on.

I've said for years NFL football is the most entertaining sport if you don't have any skin in the game. But even that can't beat NHL OT playoff hockey. Most entertaining sport experience there is.

NFL most entertaining? Not sure I get that. Sport has gotten slower and more and more boring over the years. They don't even hit like they used to.

I'd say college if anything is more exciting.

But football as a sport can't compare to hockey with the action.

Probably true, which I like about him. But he won't get the benefit of the doubt from the refs. He's starting trouble/a scrum. Think the refs like that, no. So they let him get tuned up.
Bennett's not worried about being the only one penalized. Worst case, is refs will take one each next mini scrum.

McAvoy could have shoved him, like a normal, everyday response. And yes, Bennett's was very mild. Seen much worse ones just about every match. And they don't earn that kind of retaliation.

Oh yea, "tap" by Bennett, he chopped him for no reason.

You people are soft, and/or new to watching hockey.
