What’s not good were up 3-0 series and if we win one period we win the series, what’s not good?
The fact that we still are reasonably positioned to complete the sweep after that absolute clusterf*** of a period, is a gift. I hope they have a little extra in the tank for the third.

We have a tendency to have trouble in 2nd periods when we get a surge against us. You have to forecheck, pressure their exit or else you can never get your far D man off the ice. Direct cause of their goal. All our forwards run to the bench after we clear our own zone after being pinned. How do they expect the D to change? One forward has to stay on and forecheck the dump in.

Idk why this group took their foot off of the gas after what Wilson did at the end of the first. Score the next goal and the caps probably implode and it’s game over.
Instead they let some harmless 1 on 4 zone entry turn into a goal where the goalie made the save and the 1 skater got his own rebound. That’s inexcusable in a preseason game honestly, let alone a playoff game.
I don’t care if Washington is desperate. The rangers are a much better team than they’re showing.
