This is where Fitz needs to control narrative. Sending Geertsen down meant Ruff couldn't play him. He needs to do the same for Wood, Blackwood, Graves and Severson by not offering them new contracts. Force Ruff to play Luke Hughes and perhaps Nemec next season.

I've said this for so long but I absolutely love Schmid and think he is unquestionably the best goalie on the roster and should have been the starter by now. This feels strange to say but because of his playstyle being so positionally and fundamentally focused he is much better suited as an NHL goalie than an AHL one, which is why his stats have been so much better in the NHL.

Yup seems like he’s trying too hard to make plays and gets careless with the puck. I don’t remember him just losing the puck unchallenged in the regular season nearly this often
