Caps came out hard and fast the first 10 minutes . Habs young defense was in shock a little. Jitters Started to settle down a little, but a PP and OV scores. Montembault kept them in. If he had kept it 0-0 it would have been huge for the Habs surviving first period. As it is they are still in this. They are getting some chances.

The call on Raddysh was just as “soft” as the call against Guhle. Don’t understand the complaints.

Guhle could have easily got a third man in / roughing in the scrum as well.

Absolute crap. The Raddysh penalty was a good call. They always call any slash near the hands.

It’s hard to call Montreal soft so far. Washington came out strong trying to give Montreal the little brother treatment. But Montreal has mostly withstood this...so far at least.

Did Ovy play the full 2 minutes on the PP during the season too? He seems to get an awful lot of ice time for a guy who can barely skate. I feel like this is exploitable.

It's clear that Habs being so young were very nervous, especially Hutson. He's been missing pretty basic plays which I hadn't seen him do all season long.

This first game will likely go to Washington but I'm confident that g2 will go to the Habs.

What? Third man in is almost exclusively for fights. Ghule should not have got called there.

The Raddysh call is because the hit that was laid (not sure which cap it was) before that scrum was not a legal hit. Caps were offside and they knew it then threw a hit which you cannot do.

What? They called Raddysh for a slash in the defensive zone.
