Nice to see Montreal back in playoff mode, with sports bars fully booked and team flags waving from cars.

Here's to a great series between two teams at different stages of success.

I have the feeling this is going to look nothing like playoff hockey. The Habs are going to push and forget about defense, Washington's goalies will let them down, they will push, Habs defense/goalie lets them down.

Anyone shocked if it is a 7-6 game tonight?

Feels like either 7-6, as you say, or 2-1 with no end of "what just happened" moments.

In reality probably 5-2 for one or the other because feelings got no relation to reality for the most part.

Yes .. Caps play a solid 5 man game, one of the best 3rd period teams in hockey, if the Caps are down by 1 going into the 3rd, they will win the game.

And the Caps goalie tandem .. is really good IMO so each their own on you thinking they are special needs Timmy out there. LT is hurt, Charlie has been hurt in game a few times, playing AHL goalies a few times down the stretch

I would be shocked if Habs got more than 3-4 non EN goals

With that said .. you know what will happen now.

Montembault is my biggest question mark going into this series so definitely could happen lol.

Crazy that the Habs went from an absolute dumpster fire to a playoff team in the span of a few months. They’ve been wildly inconsistent/streaky this year, so I’m just here to see which version of this young team shows up.

Injuries are definitely concerning for Washington, this is more anyone’s series than it should be.

Logically and on paper the Caps should win this, but I think people wildly underestimate the Habs. They were at the bottom of the standings for some times and managed to climb their way up to the playoffs, despite a losing streak before the 4N break. It's a good thing this isn't decided by logic or paper. Not saying they will, but Habs can definitely take this.

Our Habs have nothing to lose and should go out there and play loosey goosey(DC) and learn from the experience.
That's what Toronto did in 2017 and it was a fantastic series to watch.

The whole "getting experience" thing hasn't yet worked out for the Leafs though. In Quebec I understand that vous vous souvenez, so regardless of how this goes the future is bright in Montreal.

I'll eat crow if it's the other way around, but it's the Caps series, but hope the Habs push them and it's a 6, or 7 game series.

The habs are sort of lucky in that some of their core has playoff experience, so they're not really green.

As long as the Habs don't do their f***ing "let's not show up for the 1st" period bs, it won't be an infuriating series to watch

The Caps whole schtick is not showing up for the first. Don't steal that from us.

...awesome, we can finally fight about something... :biglaugh:

...I kid...glad our fanbases have respect for each other...saves on the amount of posts one has to ignore in these threads...:biglaugh:
Yeah, Washington has always respected the Quebec teams (the Hunter and Langway effect). Has seemed like MTL fans have respected Ovi from day 1, and it's always been a great time, win or lose, when I've gone to Caps/Habs game in Montreal, so this is a "I want to win the series but I actually don't want the opponent to lose" kind of situation.
