Since the Capitals won the Cup in 2018 - there are 29 NHL franchises who have played at least 1 playoff game.

Ottawa is in last place for win percentage and goals for - but they don't really count, since it's only been 1 game (the loss from yesterday).

Among all 28 other teams:

Washington is in last place for win percentage - with 7 wins in 27 games. That's a pace of 42 points in 82 games.
Washington is in second to last place for goals per game (2.30, right above Wild at 2.29).

I think Capitals are going to choke big time these playoffs.

Jesus, people seem to forget that this is the team with the best record in the East vs a team that squeeked in on their last day.

Washington is a +55 while the habs are a -20.

This series might closer than it looks on paper but the habs are serious underdogs.

And this time they don't have Carey Price to steal a series or three.

This is interesting except for well over 60% of the roster had nothing to do with those stats, unless your referring to just bad luck franchises in the playoffs. Eller, Ovi and Carlson only ones left from when your window started and Eller was gone for over a year.

The reason for that is since the beginning of December the two teams have almost Identical records. There's a reason the odds makers have this closer than many thought it would be.

I'm just hoping we can make this somewhat of a series and not look as brutal as New Jersey or Ottawa. Washington's center line has a lot of defensive acumen and that hasn't been good for the Habs this year.
