The Leafs haven't beaten Boston in the playoffs since 1959. They have met in the playoffs 6 times since then, the Bruins going 6-0 in those series with a record of 24-10. The last 3 meetings have all gone 7 games.

Leafs score more goals than Boston, but the Bruins have better goaltending. Should be another entertaining series between these two again.

I was at Bruins in 6. Thinking it will be in 5.
Come on, B.C, you can't be serious. :( They canNOT <bleep> the bed, again. It's just the law of averages...

Leafs are DUE. Leafs in 7.

Glad to see Toronto and Tampa are already in their normal playoff forms!
I HATE that ^^ this ^^ made me laugh.

Could just as easily say Bruins fans thinking this year will be the same. Not to mention both 2018 and 2019 went 7 games - it's not like the Leafs got killed.
Exactly.

Leafs have the talent to win this but their big guns need to be able to actually step up later in the series and they always seem to disappear.

The talent is there but they've got a lot to prove.

Exactly.
I just have absolutely no faith in this team. I really do hope I am wrong. I don't think I am though.

People asked me all day why I preferred Toronto to Tampa

Tonight's game about sums that up :sarcasm:

The depth needs to produce. That’s what has plagued this team.

Domi, Bertuzzi, Jarnkrok, McMann, Knies, etc will need to contribute.

As a Leafs fan. I’m about as confident as the first fart of the morning not being on certified porcelain that Leaf’s shit the bed. But we shall see I guess.

Uh, no. The stars need to produce. When the clock strikes game five they go away.

Depth scoring doesn’t mean anything if guys like Marner and Matthews don’t show up.

I never said they don’t need to produce. I said the depth has been the problem. Matthews is over a point per game in the playoffs the last four years. Marner is as well. Nylander slightly below.

The stars produce. But they’ve been surrounding by guys who dry right up or who just simply aren’t good enough to support. Games get tighter and when your depth can’t step up, it gets harder for the guys at the top.

The question is, can the Bruins stop 69 goal man Matthews? Matthews could score 15 goals in this series for all we know.

And I disagree.

Their problem has been that their prime scorers don’t show up when it matters.
This was true in years past but last year in the games that truly mattered vs. Tampa, the stars did show up. Florida series was a different story, though, but as much to do with running into a stone wall of a goalie.

Mitch Marner playoff metrics:

Game 1: 4G 5A in 8 games
Game 2: 4G 7A in 8 games
Game 3: 0G 8A in 8 games
Game 4: 0G 9A in 7 games
Game 5: 0G 4A in 7 games
Game 6: 1G 1A in 6 games
Game 7: 0G 2A in 4 games

Once the series goes on, he doesn’t show up. Moreover, he seems to make brutal mistakes. And he has 10 goals in 50 playoff games. Those are brutal numbers.

You named one player.

It was Matthews that scored twice in Game 4 last year vs. Tampa and in Game 6, Tavares scored the OT winner in Game 6, Rielly scored an OT winner etc. If you mean just Marner then say that. Like I said, it's been an issue in years past, but at least in the one series they have won, the stars (most of them) performed well.
