The Rangers will be either a team today that rises to the occasion or falters...This team has had their backs against the wall the 2nd to last game before the end of the regular season up 2-0 on Carolina looking like they were going to glide through to victory and clinch a playoff spot, but after a bad penalty Carolina climbed back to tie it at 2 and then take the lead early in the 3rd. With the Rangers down 2-3 and possibility of a must win against New Jersey on the horizon, the New York Rangers went on the powerplay with less than 5 minutes to go in Regulation, the puck was passed around and it found its place on the tape of Richards stick a slap shot wide deflected straight off the boards hitting the back of Ellis's leg and bouncing in to tie the game 3-3. Then it got to overtime, what was to happen was anybody's guess, but then the Captain, Ryan Callahan comes streaking down the right side noticing Ellis is out of position rockets a shot over the glove and in to clinch a playoff berth! Then we blow out the Devils 4-0 in the regular season finale...
Now the Rangers are here down 2-3 in the series. One win by the Rangers will set up a monumental game 7 tomorrow and a loss for the Ranger would set up a long summer. However, this is a team that is on the backs of Henrik Lundqvist, Derek Stepan, and John Moore...one at each position...Today we will see them play the games of their life! Today we will watch the New York Rangers play the greatest game of this season as they take it to the caps and blow them out of New York City!
