People say Boston is a tough, heavy team that can wear you down.

Well what about our speed. They can have fun trying to keep up with that for 60 minutes over 7 games. Wave after wave of high speed pressure on your defense. I think they should be more worried about being worn down than us.
It all depends on how much extracurricular activity the refs let go in, and let's not forget that their first line can really fly too.

Our depth needs to show up.

We've been a bit hot and cold recently, even during games

It's understandable considering our position on the table but Andersen coming to the party is going to be the big one
Sure have, so have the other two teams we could have faced, it's hard to keep an edge when you know you're in and real hockey is coming. I don't think the last couple weeks will mean jack to how we ultimately perform, this has been a couple months of basically stuck, Babs did well to keep us motivated imho.

Lou brought in Plekanec for this series alone. Will he step up against Bergeron? I like our chances if he does
I just threw up thinking about turtle neck on the ice against Bergeron.

There is only one problem in this series and its a big one. How do you shut down Marchand Bergeon Pastrnak = 99 goals this season.

For 10 minutes: Bergeron vs. Plekanec, Marchand vs. Komarov, Pastrnak vs Kapanen
For 10 minutes: Bergeron vs. Kadri, Marchand vs. Marleau, Pastrnak vs. Marner

Just stick on to them like white on rice when they are on the ice.

For the remaining 40 min balls to the wall:

Hyman Matthews Nylander
Marleau Kadri Marner
JVR Bozak Brown

...or something along these lines.

The only thing that scares me this series is marchand being marchand and injuring one of our players.

This will def be an entertaining series. I think we are the better team so we should win. Another loss to boston in the first round would sting real bad.

I think leafs in 6. For my sanity's sake, no game 7 ot pls.

Well it's a good thing that Kadri can be equally annoying if the situation presents itself. I also expect Uncle Leo to take it up a notch and be a thorn in their sides.

Maybe change it up with the defensive pairings.

Always have the 1st line or 2nd line matched up against their top line.

And always have Hainsey - Zaitsev on against their top line.

Could even go with Hainsey - Polak.

Just my honest opinion, I think our defense and goaltending is pretty meh, so because of that I am doubtful about us going all the way. But my passion is saying, lets go all the freaking way! This is our year!

What do you think about Boston's defense and goaltending?

Is it better, or worst?

I guess the solace I can take from tonight's game is if that's the team we face in the first round, anything less than a sweep would be a disappointment.

Boston’s team defense is better than ours and probably will be as long as we have guys like Polak, Carrick, Hainsey in our lineups. Goaltending is about the same IMO. Both Rask and Andersen are good goalies but I don’t think either is good enough to steal a series on his own.

The way we beat Boston is the way we have beaten any team this year. Speed and skill.

Not sure why you think goaltending is meh. Andersen is a great goalie

To me, Andersen is the key to winning the series. Boston will see it the same way. With his history of concussions, you just know they will be crashing the net. Very worrisome. Our power play will need to be vicious to keep them from running Andersen.
