ECHL Announces Partnership with Nickelodeon for 2018-19 Season - The ECHL - Premier 'AA' Hockey League

26 teams getting opportunity to have Nickelodeon theme night with special jerseys.

Definitely a family-friendly promo night.


Probably too too to partner with NHL (although I do wonder if the AHL San Jose Barracuda licensing of the "Blue Barracudas" last season from the Legends of the Hidden Temple may have been the catalyst).

But what iconic brands might make sense for the NHL (other than Star Wars which many teams do utilize)?

Seems odd at first glance, but a few years back I used to work for an independent league baseball team in the Chicago area, and by none our most popular day was a random noonish weekday summer game that we had loads of youth camps and summer school programs attend as part of a promotion, and hearing three thousand kids screaming along with the Spongebob Squarepants theme from all the way out on the outfield scoreboard was one of the more surreal moments I had there.

If they couple that with a kid's gameday type promotion, could be a good draw for them.
