GDT: ECFs - Game I - Panthers vs. Divers - 8PM EST - ESPN/TNT/SN

Wasn't worried at all about the Lightning or Leafs, but Canes will be a much tougher test. They are basically like a lower skilled version of us. And in the playoffs hard work beats talent.

We're the favorites again, but damn that's a good Canes team and they will be bringing it this series. Even if we make it out, we're going to be super banged up because it's going to take everything you get through these guys.
So this is what Ill say. I do think Carolina is a great team and they are obviously fresh.

Freddy Andersen is playing out of his mind so he will be the factor here.

The only thing I can hang my hat on is who Carolina actually played. Who knows, maybe we will shock them with actual stiff competition. It's going to be that or they just might be that damn good

They played Jersey who was obviously injured (No Jack Hughes, Markstrom slashed his own players) and they were going through a Cup Hangover from November

Then Washington who was wildly predicted to bottom out. Not to mention Thompson looked like shit

Having said that, we need one of Tkachuk or Barkov to be better on top of us getting the current production from our depth.

Now, we saw the same thing play out in 2023. Barkov was more focused on defending than offending during the Toronto series, then he started scoring against Carolina. Could we see the same thing play out?

We basically need it to since we can't expect Chucky to do anything except allow short handed chances

I know shitposting has been on a record high, dunno whos responsible for that...

but where tf is everyone, ive lurked here for years and it feels like a lot of people back then got ran over by Matt Cooke

3 times in a row in the ECF fresh off a recent cup win and its just 10 of us having the time of our lives here

that filthy between the leg fake barkov did against Raanta made me more mad than impressed cause he can do that whenever he wants and chooses not to

Freedom and age is my guess. Like Maurice said, winning is a kind of freedom, you're just less stressed about it all and don't need to post here to complain about shit.

Plus I'm guessing the age of the average forum user has gone up, so less free time. All the younger people are on Reddit or whatever, and that's why they're cesspools.

The average redditor is either posting from Elgin AFB or middle aged. Kids are on apps, man. Apps.

I'm sure you recall, but the Tallon era was a rough one on here at times. The few years of promise were surrounded by disappointing finishes.
The "promotion" of Tallon the first time really hit a peak of in forum friction on here too. Especially with the trade of Guds and the compute boys/Rowe as GM/Gallant being canned/Cifu trolling fans. Only time I stepped away for like 3 months.

Lol well I'm referring to anyone under the age of 35 as young so....

I think of it as forum users oldest (35+), then Reddit/Facebook (25-35), then apps (<25). Generalizing here obviously....or maybe I'm way off. I don't know anymore.

I actually liked Tallon’s “blueprint” plan when he was first hired. I fell for the bait n switch. The blueprint was actually more like an I-95 or Turnpike project, never done, not even close, and rarely worked on.
