This team is insane when a Panthers HFBoarder goes to Europe.
Hey, there's a bunch of us permanently over here. You're welcome.

Just to say that we lost the only games I tried to catch live. I was planning to (try to) watch Saturday's game but have now learnt my lesson and ALL games from now on are going to be watched the day after on catch up.

In unrelated news - why the 8pm plus start times???!!! I really try but I'm asleep by the time they get round to the anthems... I'm just not made as stern stuff as @Cats711

This wasn’t ever gonna happen, so purely hypothetically, as a thought exercise… can you imagine what ECF would have been like if the Leafs had advanced by some incredible, undeserved luck?

Woulda given the WC soccer finals a run for its softness.

@zeroG posted a Canes podcast in the other thread, it was their local reporters / crew shooting the shit at the arena after the game, just a couple comments:

1. As much as we might rag on the Canes, they have a great broadcast team, those guys are actually quite sharp and entertaining. But...

2. A couple of them argued strongly that the Canes need to be meaner and more physical and throw the body more, try to punish the Panthers in a series like this. Couldn't disagree more. The Canes need to make these games as boring as possible, and it was precisely Svechnikov, Ghost, and Aho trying to injure our players that enticed the Panthers to stop screwing around and mollywop them last night.

(Here's the vid if anyone wants it)

I love how the narrative is that the Panthers aren't doing anything out of the ordinary besides being extremely dirty. All the pundits, reddit sludge and other knuckle-draggers are spending their entire time complaining about that the teams faced by the Panthers are somehow fundamentally flawed (there's truth to it ofc) but imo thus far there's very little recognition of the Panthers simply being an incredible team with no apparent weak points. Universities will establish faculties just to study this team for years to come :thumbu:
If the Panthers win it all, the NHL fundamentally have to strive to change their roster with highly skilled guys that can bang bodies, there are not many of them, you basically have to groom them for years into that kind of players, Diamond in the rough, or reclaimed projects, Marchment was good example of this. we need him back.
