Series Talk: ECFs Discussion - Return of the Jerks! - Panthers Lead 2-0

imo the atmosphere that the Panthers have is a rather rare occurrence. Winning ofc helps a lot but fundamentally it boils down to individual personalities and how they treat their peers.

We saw some of the toxicity in the Leefs series when e.g. Marner goes to shout at the Leafs bench to wake up when Mariner himself did pretty much nothing in the entire series. Shows how out of tune even these so called superstars are when they actually realize that they need the entire team to work together as a cohesive unit.
Maurice’s quote at the end kinda reflects on what killed his desire to coach the Jets. If I recall, the locker room was divided on leaders with Wheeler being a toxic presence. At least I think it was Wheeler

Man, these guys play like they want to show Brind'Amour that if he didn't believe two years ago it was a sweep, even he will understand that this year it is.

I don't care if Verhaege goes 0 goals, 0 points and a minus 50 in 82 regular season games as long as we make the POs. How good is this guy come crunchtime?

Hoping for Reino that it isn't anything serious (maybe charley horse or bone bruise?). What a dirty play by Aho, the only finishing guy I just cannot f*ckin' stand.

Great to see how Gadjo learnt so quickly how to defend Ghost, not overplaying it. The whole 4th line with a great game again.

And I love what they did on the PP. It seems that CAR needs to get a clear within 20-30 seconds to get a linechange, otherwise they are completely gassed with their hyper aggressive PK style. The way our team made sure not to lose possession in the O-zone and how Ek took his time with a exhausted Jordan Staal in front of him was absolutely fantastic.

I love how the narrative is that the Panthers aren't doing anything out of the ordinary besides being extremely dirty. All the pundits, reddit sludge and other knuckle-draggers are spending their entire time complaining about that the teams faced by the Panthers are somehow fundamentally flawed (there's truth to it ofc) but imo thus far there's very little recognition of the Panthers simply being an incredible team with no apparent weak points. Universities will establish faculties just to study this team for years to come :thumbu:
