Yeah I pointed out the same. He's not hurting the team in any way like Tkachuk has at points, but he's lost a slight step.

Fortunately though Ekblad and Jones (and Mikkola) have really stepped up.

I think teams are punching themselves out, trying to make a statement early in series' that they won't be bullied.

I think teams are punching themselves out, trying to make a statement early in series' that they won't be bullied.

One of my theories is that teams are going out seeking revenge, and that just isn't a good plan against us.
It started with Boston last year. It didn't end up well for them and the longer the series went on the more frustrated they got and payback just backfired.
Same with every single opponent so far these playoffs. Tampa, Toronto, and now Carolina so far and in theory if we face the Oilers if we make it.
Not saying we're going to be unbeatable with this approach because Toronto took us to a game 7. But teams are coming balls out from the jump and we thrive off of that and it backfires on the opponent.
Again, this is probably a whopping oversimplification, it's one of my theories , but that's what it's looking like to me watching these past series so far. Ultimately, to be successful you have a to have healthy bodies and a lot of luck, but our team is consistent and composed which hopefully will continue to pay dividends and we are not on a mission for revenge which i think is not a good approach.

I will say, Carolina did come out banging bodies. They laid a couple more hits than us. But from memory, they had some pretty big ones.
Hope our boys can keep it up and no big injuries. Don't want to reach the final, if we make it, in the same condition we did against Vegas.
Pretty much every game is going to be wild. Carolina is going to be rabid next game, if they lose they're cooked and frustration will be boiling for a myriad of reasons. They'd be 0-14 in ECF. That would be brutal and things can get out of hand 100%.

We have the composure, and the boys know how to punish them as well without going overboard.
The Marchy incident was warranted. Love that rat.

We sent most likely Toronto into a retooling and breaking the big 4s
We might be watching right now, Carolina send off to a retooling.

I say this with respect to those teams, Tampa kept reminding us, year after year, how "Not Ready" we were, and adding 1 or 2 new somewhat better players every year, would yield the same result.

Many give some credit to Dale Tallon, personally, I think Jaromir Jagr was the beginning, the transformation of how Barkov and Huberdeau held onto the puck with tenacity, visually as an expectator, it was very palpable. they were learning from him and then Zito happened.

If I am being honest, I think Dallas wins it all, they are the most worthy opponent we will encounter this year, they are built to win it, but for me as a fan, to be able to watch Hockey in June, that F$cks!

We are leaving the Golden Age of the Florida Panthers, and I do not care about the haters, let them be, we were the joke of the NHL for about 20 years as they said, we only had 4 fans and we needed to move the team to Canada. now the same people hate us because we are good, really good.

When this ride is over, with our memories full with these many snapshots in time, and have stablished the right to sit at the table with others teams without question, we will have created a long lasting history for the Panthers

tbf Canes are in the middle of a retool, just happen to get the november cup champion devils and the washington commanders before running into us
