Bob's been better than average; not lights-out carry-the-team level though. If he can hit the level he played at last year, that would be immensely helpful.

Depends how you qualify above average but sure. Every goaltender has to make great saves, Bob's had some highlight reel saves but overall the goaltending matchup heavily favors the Rangers at the moment.

Ok so the numbers lie then when it comes to Bob. Doesn't seem to lie with anyone else. Swayman #1, Shesterkin #2 and Saros #3 in the playoffs.
They absolutely do! He saw way less shots than those 3 while every second shot was a high danger shot or breakaway. He was almost always there when called upon, gave up zero fluke goals and stopped all easy shots. Don't know what else you could want from him

These stats take into account high danger or else they wouldn't be able to account for GSAx. The Carlo goal was terrible.

Don't have to look at the stats when you watch the games. The guy does not see a puck for 10 minutes and then gets peppered. Alone that asks a huge amount of concentration and he has delivered. He still is the least of our "problems" - not even close to deserve to be called a problem

Both can be true at the same time

It’s cool if Bob could pitch shutouts but highly unlikely. So I’ll always take the 2 goals against or less method to have a good chance at winning games.

Bob being Bob is just fine with me….:for his age you have to root for this guy even more. In the end we need as a team to protect the net everything else takes care of itself.
We do need Chucky to be Chucky and that needs to happen more….:

Apparently we are “trashy goons” who spent an entire game head-hunting Nico Hischier after he injured Barkov on a faceoff play that was “nothing dirty, just kind of a freak injury”

Lmao
It has always been that way. When Panthers player is injured, it's "just unfortunate freak accident". When opposite teams player is injured, Panthers player literally "must be put in jail for violent behavior". Hovewer, Hischier doesn't known for dirty plays.

Anyway this all rings so hollow right now when Jacob Trouba is out there doing Superman elbows on people and Vancouver/Edmonton has featured guys getting blatantly speared in the groin and other such fun stuff.
